Making a Splash: Our Field Trip on the Wisconsin Dells Duck Tour

On a cold, rainy day in late September, our students headed out on the water and the road for a ride on the famous Wisconsin Dells Duck tour, and even the gray skies couldn't dampen the fun. It turned out to be a wonderful day of learning outside the classroom.

The Duck tour is part bus, part boat. Our students got the thrill of rolling down the road one minute and splashing into the water the next, and the cheers when we hit the water said it all.

Along the way, students saw the Dells up close: towering sandstone cliffs, winding river channels, and rock formations shaped over thousands of years. They learned how the land was formed and heard stories about the people and history that make this corner of Wisconsin so special. It was a hands-on lesson in local landscape and heritage that no textbook could match.

Our tour guide was a highlight all on his own. Between facts about the cliffs and the river, he kept up a steady stream of jokes and puns that had students (and chaperones) laughing the whole ride.

After all that adventure, we refueled with lunch at Culver's. Burgers, cheese curds, and frozen custard were the perfect Wisconsin way to wrap up the day.

Thank you again to the Webb family for making this trip possible!
