Last week, our school had the privilege of welcoming members of Justice for a Cure to our school for a very special collection. Students across all grades have been decorating ribbons with encouraging messages, artwork, and heartfelt prayers for cancer survivors in our community and beyond.

Justice for a Cure is an organization dedicated to supporting those affected by cancer through awareness, fundraising, and acts of compassion. Their mission is to bring hope and encouragement to patients and families navigating the difficult journey of cancer treatment. When they reached out to our school about participating in their ribbon project, we knew this was an opportunity for our students to make a real difference in the lives of others.

This project holds especially deep meaning for our school community this year. Deputy Jodi Hager, who has been a cherished presence in our students' lives and has dedicated her time and expertise to our school, was recently diagnosed with cancer. Deputy Jodi has spent cherishable moments with our students, running safety drills, participating in physical education classes, and showing them what it means to serve others with kindness and integrity. Learning of her diagnosis has touched all of our hearts.

When the Justice for a Cure team arrived along with Deputy Haley Collins to collect the ribbons, they were visibly moved by the care and thoughtfulness our students had put into each one. These ribbons will be distributed to cancer patients and survivors, offering them tangible reminders that they are not alone, that children they've never met are thinking of them, and that there is a whole community rallying around them with love and prayers.
We are grateful to Justice for a Cure for giving our students this opportunity to practice compassion in action. We are thinking of Deputy Jodi and all those facing cancer, and we hold them in our hearts and prayers.
